May is going to be a great month for Stealth BJJ. In the Manchester Open, we have a record number of women competing. Dave Minto, Emil and Chau are all taking part in the first Sky televised submission grappling event in Manchester. Now the European Championships are finished, it is now time for a younger member of Stealth BJJ to represent the team on the world stage. On the 19th of February Libby Genge, will be taking to the mats at the Pan Kids IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship in California. At only 13 years old Libby has already spent 6 years training BJJ.
The IBJJF European Championships took place last week in Lisbon. It was mentioned in our previous post that Stealth BJJ had a team of guys going out there. It was great to see how everyone represented Stealth BJJ excellently and some of them were able to bring home a medal.

Now all the holiday time eating and drinking is over it’s time to focus on the new year. At Stealth BJJ that’s not only welcoming all the new people wanting to start BJJ. This also includes getting ready for the 2017 competition season. The first big competition of the new year is the IBJJF European Championships.
On the 11th December we were able to host Ben Poppleton at Stealth BJJ. Ben is a 3rd degree Black Belt under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. He is also the first British person to be awarded a black belt by a Gracie. As well as overall being a well respected coach.
The seminar was open to anyone from any club as always!
Best of luck to two of Stealth BJJ’s purple belts travelling to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to train and compete next week. Mark and Emil are both competitive purple belts, heading out to the birth place of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for an extended holiday. I’m sure they will have a great time and return sharper than ever!
